Disfora

A Cusdis alternative, now Cusdis is deprecated.

Cusdis was deprecated in July 2026 and its hosted service has stopped responding. Disfora is a hosted comment system that can take guest comments like Cusdis did, with the moderation tools Cusdis didn't have, and no ads or trackers.

What happened to Cusdis

Cusdis was a small, open-source comment system: a 5 KB script, no sign-in for readers, and every comment held until you approved it. Its last release came out in November 2021.

On 17 July 2026 its developer archived the repository with a notice at the top: "Cusdis is deprecated now. If you want to export your data. Please email [email protected]."

When we checked in October 2026, cusdis.com returned an error instead of the site. Self-hosted copies still run, but they won't get fixes.

What Cusdis did that Disfora doesn't

Guest comments with nothing to set up

Cusdis took comments without an account from the start. Disfora can too, once you turn guest comments on and add free Cloudflare Turnstile keys, so guests pass a check before posting.

A 5 KB embed

Cusdis's script was about 5 KB. Disfora's comments do more and weigh more, though the code only downloads on pages that have a comment section.

Open source

You could read Cusdis's code and run it on your own server. Disfora is hosted only.

Switching from Cusdis

  1. 1

    Ask Cusdis for your data

Email [email protected] from the address on your account and say which export format you want. That's the only way to get comments out now.

  2. 2

    Remove the Cusdis code

Delete the element with the id cusdis_thread and the cusdis.es.js script.

  3. 3

    Add your site to Disfora

Create a free account, start a project and enter your domain. No card needed.

  4. 4

    Add Disfora to your pages

Paste the script tag once, and put an empty container where the comments should go. On WordPress, install the Disfora plugin instead: it does this for you.

  5. 5

    Verify your domain

Prove the site is yours with a meta tag, a file or a DNS record. Comments start showing straight away.

  6. 6

    Choose who can comment

Readers sign in with Google or an email code. To let them comment with just a name too, add free Cloudflare Turnstile keys in Settings and turn on guest comments.

Your old comments

Disfora can't read Cusdis exports yet. If you get your data back, tell us: it decides which importers we build next.

If you moved to Cusdis from Disqus and still have the Disqus export, you can import that to bring back everything from before the move.

Keep your own copy from day one

Webhooks send every comment to your own server as it's posted, edited or deleted, as signed JSON. They're on the free plan, so your comments don't have to live only in someone else's database.

Questions about switching

Its developer deprecated Cusdis and archived its repository on 17 July 2026. To get your comments out, email [email protected] with the export format you want. The hosted service at cusdis.com has stopped responding.

Not yet. Disfora imports Disqus and Commento exports today. If you get a Cusdis export back, tell us through the contact page: it decides which importers we build next.

Yes, if you turn on guest comments in your project's settings. Guests comment and reply with just a name, after a Cloudflare Turnstile check that runs on your page with your own free Turnstile keys. Their comments wait for your approval, and they can't vote. Readers who sign in, with Google or an email code, keep one account for every site that runs Disfora. Guest comments are on every plan.

Turn on webhooks. Disfora sends every comment to your server as signed JSON when it's posted, edited, moderated or deleted, so you build up your own copy as you go. Webhooks are on the free plan.

Yes. One site is free with comments, ratings, polls, forms, moderation and webhooks. Paid plans add more sites, automations, form email alerts, unbranded widgets and team members.

Put comments back on your site

The free plan covers one site, takes a few minutes to set up and doesn't need a card.
